VENETIAN 1870s MACCHIE POLICROME Aventurine Decanters

RARE Antique Venetian SET of MACCHIE POLICROME or Multicolor, Aventurine Flecks and GOLD FLECKS Decoration Art Glass DECANTERS with DRAGON HEAD Stoppers!!!! Attributed to Salviati Dott. Antonio fu Bartolomeo circa 1870-80s or by Francesco Ferro e Figlio, circa 1880s (from the book "The Colors of Murano in the XIX Century" pages 101 and 156).

The colors on the 2 pieces are amazing! They have every thing from Blue to Pink to Green to Yellow! Not to mention covered throughout with Aventurine Flecks! The pieces have 2 Gold Rings on the neck and body, and a Ribbon Effect with Gold Prunts on the bottom of the pieces.

The samples in the book do not have the Dragon decoration, so the pieces could be earlier still! Both decanters are in EXCELLENT Condition, but their stoppers have been damaged. One of the stoppers has been broken in 2, with the Dragon Head still present (1 ear missing)! If you put the 2 pieces the right way on the decanter the dragon head can stand up (I wanted to photograph it so you would know what it should look like with a complete stopper, but just using the top part with the dragon head as a stopper would be safer) The other has most of the bottom part of the stopper, but no Dragon Head.
