Classic shape in this lovely Bristol, England art glass vase dramatically handpainted with vermillion fuschias, and accent leaves in green and blue. Painted on front and verso, and accented with gilt. Rim at opening, shoulder, lower knop, and foot are lined in yellow enamel. 8.25" (20.95 cm) tall, 2.375" (6.03 cm) diameter rim and base; clipped pontil. Unusual pair of 19th Century Art Glass Vases, probably English, Stevens & Williams. A beautiful pattern of dotted "quilting" runs the entire length of the vases. The inner glass is a Deep Cranberry at the rim, gradually fading to Pale Pink. Difficult to see in the photos, is an outer casing of crystal over the cranberry. Covered Blown glass tankard, or stein, with thick, applied handle, pewter hinge which appears to be hand-forged, extended horsehead decoration. Commemorative message on beveled glass lid inset which reads in script, "Ch. Fennel 12/7 79." The engraved initials, "F. L." appear on the reverse of the glass, under the horse. Precious pair of English Mouthblown Art Glass Vases, attributed to Stevens & Williams, Stourbridge, England, blue cased rims and neck, over creamy white glass which appears custard-yellow in some lighting. The thorned handles have an opalescent fire when held to the light. Some of the raised gilding remains on the front floral pattern, but most of the gilding has worn away, revealing the still attractive under-enamel in an amethyst color. Rare, early to mid-20th Century Bimini Glass, Wine Glass with suspended Glass Polo Horse & Rider inside the Glass Globe Stem (typical of Bimini); rider even carries a glass mallet; tiny canes of orange and white form the spiral design in the cup of the glass. Stem and foot are pale green; smooth pontil. Bimini Glass was only in existence from 1923 to 1955, in Vienna and England, and most examples are in museums. Large leaded crystal, hand carved vaseline glass vase. Amber tinted vaseline glass is obtained by increasing the amount of uranium salts in the glass batch. Maker unknown, but according to one of the world's foremost experts in vaseline glass, this piece was made in England or somewhere in northern United Kingdom circa 1860-1880, and done in the 'Regency' cut, an older cut from england. The glass has been leaded, and it rings like a bell when struck with your fingernail.

Three beautiful Waterford Colored Crystal Eggs, in an engraved pattern which resembles quilting. They are in pale yellow, amethyst, and blue which is one of the more rare colors of these eggs. We have seen the blue egg, alone, sell at auction for well over what we have priced all three of them; a bargain, indeed. Each measures apx. 2.5" (6.35 cm) high, and 1.5" (3.81 cm) diameter.
