Good "fire" in this lovely Baccarat Rose Tiente Swirl patterned art glass Paperweight from France. The pale yellow of Baccarat's rose tiente can be seen in the recesses of the swirling pinwheel ribs, while the outer raised portions of the pattern retain the pink coloring. This is a most attractive effect, and would be best displayed against white and/or on a lighted surface such as a light box. This piece has wear to the base, indicating some age; and the acid-signature, the typical Baccarat round logo, is quite worn and very difficult to see. We have managed to capture a photograph, although it can better be seen in person, under magnification. The entire signature cannot be easily seen, but enough of both "Baccarat" and "France," plus some of the unmistakable logo vessels can be seen to positively identify this piece. It measures 2" (5.08 cm) tall, and about 2.25" (5.71 cm) diameter. Beyond normal wear to the base, it is in excellent condition, without damage. We suggest this is probably early 20th Century.
