Lovely, antique set of six (6) roemer wine stems. The maker is unknown, likely dating to about 1850. The stems are handmade and classically structured in a traditional form with flared stem/base, a hollow knop with prunts and the bowl at top. There is some variation in craftsmanship and the glass has some trapped bubbles, small inclusions, etc. Size/Condition: On average, the stems measure 5" tall, 2" across the top of the bowl and almost 3" across the base. Each is in very good condition with some average/expected general and foot wear, no chips or cracks. Three (3) of the six (6) have the hollow knop open on the stem (bottom) side and two of the stems show annealing cracks that occured in cool down (flared stem top attachment to knop bottom)....these are completely production related, totally stable and do not effect water-tightness as they occur in the stem construction. There is some dirt in the open knops (they must have been stored upside down at some point). Unmarked, undated.
